This was our first time to Tokyo DisneySea and we have been pumped about it for weeks. All the research and Youtube videos did not prepare us for how spectacular the park truly is! Our first was nothing short of magical!

Our adventure began with another early morning. The Disney Wish & Discover Shuttle picked us up right outside our hotel, the Tokyo Disney Celebration Hotel, and dropped us off right at the park entrance around 7:45 AM where there had to be at least 500 people already in line. Thankfully, the park has a reputation of admitting guests in earlier than the official opening time and we made our way inside five minutes shy of 9 AM.

We hopped on the DisneySea Transit Steamer Line first, as it conveniently transported us from Mediterranean Harbor to Lost River Delta, minus the walking. A great leisurely way to start the day.

We then went right instead of left and found ourselves in Mermaid Lagoon ahead of the crowd. We pretty much walked onto Flounder’s Flying Fish Coaster (twice!) and Scuttle’s Scooters after short five-minute waits for each. While both rides are geared toward younger children, Jordan still had a blast.

Next up was Arabian Coast, an Aladdin themed area with three rides suitable for the entire family: Caravan Carousel, Jasmine’s Flying Carpets and Sindbad’s Storybook Voyage. We managed to ride all three and bought a Chandu plushie from the gift shop in less than an hour.

We continued onwards to Lost River Delta for Indiana Jones Adventure: Template of the Crystal Skull and let me say, this attraction is probably not suitable or recommended for young children. Evelyn started screaming 10 seconds into the ride and had her eyes closed for more than half of it.
Lost River Delta is also famous for their Spicy Smoked Chicken Leg. It is huge, tender, juicy, and smoked to perfection with the right amount of seasoning. Despite the name, the chicken was not spicy at all.
After the chicken snack, the kids were a little reluctant to follow Radwin back to Mermaid Lagoon while I rode Raging Spirits as a single rider. Raging Spirits is the only roller coaster at Tokyo Disney Resorts with a 360-degree loop so naturally it was on my list.

Once I conquered my rollercoaster, I circled back to collect everyone. They were hanging out inside Triton’s Kingdom, an indoor “under the sea” theme park. This facility is super neat, styled like an underwater cave. The attention to intricate details was impressive! This was also one of only two places where you can try the Sea Salt Ice Cream Monaka, which was really good!

Lunch was at Vulcania Restaurant, a buffeteria inside a cavern in Mysterious Island serving Chinese food. We ordered a little bit of everything, which hit the spot except for the Almond Jelly with Taro. The jelly was great, just not too sure about the taro, which was a reoccurring theme along with pumpkin, with Halloween right around the corner.

Once we filled our bellies, off we went to Port Discovery for Nemo & Friends SeaRider and Aquatopia. We did get a touch wet on both attractions, a nice welcome after two long 45-minute waits under the hot afternoon sun.

And of course, we couldn’t resist a photo op with Mr. Incredible!

We then boarded the DisneySea Electric Railway, an elevated electric trolley, to American Waterfront for our last ride of the day, Toy Story Mania!, an interactive carnival style shooter style ride. Nothing like a little competition and a Tiramisu Ice Cream Sandwich to end the day.

We managed to book Priority Seating to Ristorante di Canaletto for dinner and I highly recommend this restaurant. The menu was very diverse with soup and salads, seafood and beef pasta options, and a couple of pizza choices, all reasonably priced. I ordered the Squid Ink Tagliolini and loved it. The kids meal, or Bambino Set as they call it, was super cute—served on a Mickey Mouse shaped plate and came with a jelly dessert.

The evening ended with the Believe! Sea of Dreams show. This nightly show features large boats gliding over Mediterranean Harbor, bright lasers and pyrotechnics lighting the night sky, and projection mapping on nearly every wall surface of the harbor. It was truly spectacular!
