If you are a frequent WestJet flyer, then the WestJet RBC World Elite Mastercard is a definite must! WestJet Rewards is one of two major airline loyalty programs in Canada and the WestJet RBC World Elite Mastercard allows you to earn WestJet Dollars on every purchase.
Card Features & Benefits
What makes this credit card stand out among most Canadian travel credit cards is the round-trip companion voucher you get every year you keep the card. When you book a full fare, your companion’s fare is reduced to $119 for travel within Canada or to the continental United States, and $399 for travel to everywhere else that WestJet flies to. In addition, the first checked bag is free for you and up to 8 guests travelling on the same reservation.
Or you can trade your annual companion voucher for four complimentary WestJet lounge vouchers. You can use these lounge vouchers for yourself or treat your guests to the airport lounge experience but guests must be accompanied by the member that owns the vouchers.
Other benefits include:
the ability to save 3 cents per litre on fuel at Petro-Canada and to earn 20% more Petro-Points
50 Be Well points for every $1 spent on eligible products at Rexall
a 12-month complimentary DashPass subscription
access to airport lounges with the complimentary membership to Mastercard Travel Pass Program provided by DragonPass (no free passes though)
Free Boingo wi-fi access at over 1 million Boingo hotspots worldwide
Special benefits and offers with Mastercard On-Demand Apps and Subscription Services

Trip interruption insurance of up to $5,000 per person per trip
Flight and baggage delay insurance of up to $500 per person for reasonable and necessary expenses
Hotel burglary insurance of up to $2,500 per occurrence
On top of all that’s mentioned, the WestJet RBC World Elite Mastercard also comes with purchase protection benefits, including an extended warranty that doubles the original manufacturer’s warranty for up to one year, and coverage against accidental loss or damage of personal property for up to 90 days from the date of purchase.
Earn and Redeem WestJet Dollars
Earning WestJet dollars is super easy:
2% per dollar spent on WestJet flights and WestJet vacations packages purchased through WestJet
1.5% per dollar on everyday purchases
When it comes time to redeem, those WestJet dollars you earn are fully flexible—you can choose to pay part of the fare or the whole fare with your WestJet dollars. There are no blackout dates or seat restrictions to worry about. As long as a seat is available for purchase, you can use your WestJet Dollars towards it. You can even use your WestJet dollars to redeem for a vacation package booked through westjet.com. Since 1 WestJet Dollar is worth $1CAD, your rewards can go a long way!

The annual fee on the card WestJet RBC World Elite Mastercard is $119, and you’ll need either a personal income of $80,000 or a household income of $150,000 to qualify for the card.
Is the WestJet RBC World Elite Mastercard worth it?
Yes, the WestJet RBC World Elite Mastercard is worth it if you fly with WestJet at least once a year and make use of the companion voucher. For our family of four, the free checked baggage perk alone offsets the card’s $119 annual fee since it averages $60 per checked bag per roundtrip flight.
I would recommend the WestJet RBC World Elite Mastercard to people who fly frequently or families who fly at least one a year within North America. It is definitely worth checking out!
